Phil's grandmother wrote him a letter every month after he got married. Grand-ma was completely devoted to God, while Phil was completely devoted to himself and to his wife, but most certainly not to God. The letters contained the usual stuff a grandmother would talk about ... family, health, worries, and the like, but they also contained an encouraging word each month which came from her faith. She would always say something about how she knew God had a special plan for Phil and his wife and that God was going to use them in wonderful ways.
