The phrase, "When the time has fully come," has much deeper meaning than one is apt to grasp, unless he stops to consider its profundity. If Christ had been born any earlier than in the time he was, a whole series of cooperative events would not have been present to help the new church and its gospel live and expand. If he had come at a later time, the door of opportunity which some of these events produced would have been closed once more. It was the fullness of time, for one thing, because of the Pax Romana, the peace of Rome.
