Phyllis Diller, in her book The Joys of Growing Old and How to Avoid Them, helps us laugh at our attempts to hide aging. She suggests ways to appear younger, including the idea of putting braces on one's dentures. Abraham and Sarah are perhaps best remembered for their extreme age when Isaac was born. This couple can become a sign of the potential vitality and value of older people. Sometimes, however, enthusiasm among the elderly can become unrealistic.
