How close are you to poverty?
We might answer that question in a variety of ways.
For some, the answer is entirely economic. They have their own — or someone else’s — definition of what “poverty” means, or what “the poverty line” is, and they can measure how many dollars removed they are from that. They may be near or far. They may be in poverty. But their answer is a monetary one.
