Real greatness is often missed in those who live significant lives, until they die. The greatness of a life lived totally dependent on the Christ will appear to be invisible -- or nonexistent -- to contemporaries. While the world goes whoring after "self-importance, self-fulfillment, and self-esteem," those who attach themselves to Christ the vine know that, while they may get little or no praise in their lifetime for such a surrendered existence, it is the one path to lasting greatness.
