This report card marking I would take the long way home because of the "C" grade in citizenship. My teacher said I talked too much in class, that I was a distraction to other students. I knew my father would be displeased that I received the grade and I braced myself for the worst. The "scenic route" home would lengthen my walk ten minutes.

Sauntering up the walkway to my house, my father was standing in the doorway. "Where's your report card?" he said sternly. "Right here," I murmured, handing the card to him.
