A reporter from a New York newspaper was interviewing Mother Teresa, winner of the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize, about her work in India. He asked, "Why would you expend your limited resources on people for whom there is no hope? Why not attend to people worthy of rehabilitation?"
After thinking carefully about the question, she said softly, "These people have been treated all their lives like dogs. Their greatest disease is a sense they are unwanted. Don't they have a right to die like angels?"
