Roy and Andrea had just joined the church. They were new to the community and found
a church where they could take their children. One day, not too long after joining, the
pastor approached Roy asking if he would be willing to teach a Sunday school class for
young adults.
Immediately Roy declined the offer. He told the pastor that he was filled with too many questions about the Christian faith himself that prevented him from teaching others. He stated that he needed to come to terms himself before ever considering teaching. The pastor responded with, "Halleluiah! You are just the person that class needs."
With that encouragement, Roy began teaching the class the next Sunday. Roy enjoyed preparing lessons each week and sharing his questions with the class. Looking back almost thirty years Roy says that the experience of teaching others helped him grow in his faith. He shared that "without that experience I never would have become the Christian I am today."
At first, Thomas could not believe the report from his friends that Jesus was alive. What they told him seemed nothing more than wishful thinking. However, his doubts disappeared the moment he saw the risen Lord Jesus with his own eyes. Following Pentecost, Thomas went to India to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
