She had a way about her, there was no doubting that. Mabel Anderson could stir up any group of people she set her mind to and that she did. Mabel lived in a small prairie town where everybody knew everybody, but where, it sometimes seemed, people turned a blind eye to unpleasant things. But not Mabel. When one family fell on hard times due to a husband's alcohol abuse, instead of talking about it, Mabel did something. She organized a group of women who regularly looked in on the family and offered food and support when necessary.
