Shortly after the battle began...

Shortly after the battle began, Matthew and Mike seemed to be at a distinct disadvantage in the snowball war. Having no prior experience in such conflicts, they soon discovered two problems with their preparations: 1) They had not made nearly enough snowballs to begin with, and 2) They had neglected to save some replenishing snow behind their fort from which to safely resupply their ammunition during the battle. This means that they had to venture out from behind their fort, exposing themselves to hostile fire, in order to make new projectiles.
