A sieve is a device with meshes or perforations that allows finer materials to be separated from coarser ones. It is true that when a sieve is shaken some refuse remains. But also when a sieve is shaken the dirt/soil flows through and the gold remains. It is true that a beautiful tree can sometimes yield terrible tasting fruit. But also an ugly tree can yield a very sweet, delicious fruit. It is true that a child or a very elderly person is often ignored when one seeks advice or guidance. But also a child or a very elderly person can speak words of great insight or wisdom.
