Some years ago I received a mid-afternoon phone call. A frantic voice shattered my study. A married couple needed an hour's time immediately. I invited them to the study. When they arrived it was quite clear that they had been embroiled in a very heated argument. Each face was still flushed. Their eyes flared angrily. Only a few minutes earlier, just prior to the phone call, she had seized a handgun, aimed it at her husband and fingered the trigger.
