The son had been awful...
Illustration
The son had been awful, no doubt about it. He had upset the whole family with unnecessary demands. He had refused to do his chores, insisted on throwing food, slammed his school books, and played the kitchen radio too loudly. His father's anger raged. How could this child disrupt the family so much? How could they have peace with his racket?
The son was sent to his room. No dinner was served. The father entered the boy's room after he had eaten, and sat on the bed, angry, unsure what to say or do. So he waited for the son to say something.
