In the spring of 1993 Public Service Television ran over a three-day period the extended film by Clive James, Fame in the Twentieth Century. It was of interest to note who was included and who was not. Mr. James' criterion for fame is simply being known, and the more widely known one is the more famous one is. There was a time when being "famous" had something to do with the Spirit of God or at least with being held in high esteem. Today it has everything to do with having a good press agent.
