The story is told of a troubadour who used to travel about the kingdoms of central Europe during the Middle Ages. He was renowned not only for his skill in song but also for his joy. When crowds cheered his musical tales, he would bow, wave his hat, and flash the most infectious of grins. And on those sad occasions when hecklers tried to trip him up, jeered from the back, or even turned the spirit of a crowd against him, the man would carry through to the end, bow, and depart just as pleased as ever.
