A terribly heinous crime was committed in a big city and the police had some good leads as to a likely suspect. Family and neighbors all suggested that another man in the community had a terrible dislike for the victim and had threatened him on several occasions. In fact the man had been seen in the neighborhood that evening a couple of hours before the crime was committed.
