There is an old saying that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." While that may be true for humans, I don't think that it really holds true for dogs. My wife and I learned this recently when we bought some new furniture. For years, our three dogs have made themselves at home on our two couches and one overstuffed chair. We aren't home during the day, so the three of them each have their designated "place" on the furniture.
