There is an old story about a combat unit getting ready to go into battle. The sergeant stands up and says to his men: "We've got the best medical group in the Army, so you can be sure that if you get hit, you'll be well taken care of."

Just then a private spoke up and said, "Sergeant, what if you get hit and you don't know if you're dead or alive?"

"That's easy," said the sergeant. "If you're hungry and your feet are cold you're alive."

"How do you figure that?" asked the private.
