These are the last words...

These are the last words of David. Their poetic quality is in keeping with his reputation as a psalmist and a singer of songs. In the biblical record his life unfolds before us, warts and all. He experienced public success and private failure, devout passion and redemptive shame, judgment and grace. He was a poet/king who could feel deeply. During the debates of President Clinton's first budget proposals some members of the congress commented that he could understand spending on a Super Collider, but not on the performing arts.
