During the 1990 Thanksgiving season Frank Reed in an interview told what it was like to be held as an Amencan hostage in Lebanon for 44 straight months. As we might expect, Reed had a difficult time adjusting to life when he returned to his hometown in Malden, Massachusetts. He had trouble trusting other people, even members of his own family. His wife, at times, had to say to him: "Don't react to me like I'm a guard." What Reed missed most as a hostage was a sense of caring.
