Three weeks ago I conducted a funeral service for an elderly woman in our congregation. Although I had known for four years who Gladys was, I didn't really know her. She was kind, but soft-spoken. She attended worship regularly, but never drew attention to herself. She was active in supporting the church in many ways, but they were quiet ways. As I met with family and friends in preparation for the funeral service, I learned more about all of the ways in which Gladys had spent her life as a servant of our Lord.
