On Thursday evenings at our church's summer camp, a "Galilean Service" takes place. That is the spiritual peak of the week. Campers are invited to commit their lives to Christ as they float candles out into the black waters of the adjoining river. The floating candles reflecting in the darkness is an incredible sight. Since the camp opened, hundreds of thousands of youth have participated in this service. Many have given their hearts to the Lord as a result.
Our church knew the value of the camp's outdoor chapel in the lives of our own young people. Over the years, we had sent many youth to the camp. Therefore, it was not hard to find volunteers to help rebuild the aging concrete amphitheater. Much concrete was poured. It was hard work. But when working for Jesus, "The yoke is easy and the burden is light."
