A time of public mourning...
Illustration
A time of public mourning becomes fixed in the minds of those who experience it. Many of us remember vividly the events following the assassination of John Kennedy. All regular programming on radio and TV ceased. We watched the long line of people who filed by the casket in the rotunda of the Capitol. We listened to the continual solemn music. And many remember the drums, the muffled drums which accompanied the procession to the funeral service and then to Arlington National Cemetery.
