The turning point in this...

The turning point in this morning's saga in 2 Samuel 12 occurs in verse 13 when David said to Nathan, "I have sinned." Some people are constrained to repent when they see how the consequences of their sin have made their way of life ugly or ruined any prospect of their success or future good fortune. But usually such repentance does not go far enough or reach deeply enough. In our rite of holy communion the invitation to partake is given to those who "are sorry for their sins and would be delivered of them." This implies a deeper repentance.
