Unless we think for a while, it is easy to relegate the issue of false gods as a curiously antique idea of the ancient Israelites who would get no help from them. Just what or who are false gods today? In his little play, "The Last Word," James Broughton suggests otherwise with Rusty and Dusty Augenblick stranded in a vacant roadhouse on a night when The Bomb falls:
Rusty: ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one ... (explosion)
Dusty: Bingo! Rusty: Bongo!
Dusty: It's cold in here.
