Vaccines work in an interesting way, as most of you probably know. Put in an overly simplistic way, the vaccine actually gives you a minor infection of the disease in order to develop anti-bodies that will destroy this minor infection. These anti-bodies, in turn, become established in your body and protect you against the disease if and when a new threat is introduced into your body.
