In verse fourteen of this reading the Apostle Paul tells us he is "dead to the world."
Most of us are dead to the world for the wrong reasons. To us dead to the world means we are tired, fatigued, or sacked out. We are tired from working, from trying too hard, from worrying, from too complex a life-style, from over-extending ourselves physically, emotionally, or financially. For all kinds of unacceptable reasons, we often find ourselves dead to the world.
