In verse twenty-seven of this reading, Jesus says, "Peace is what I leave you." What a perfect, all-sufficient bequest to the Christian!
But, imagine you are opening the envelope containing the last will and testament of your lone-surviving parent. They have left behind a beautiful and substantial home, plus many wise investments, and an array of bank accounts. However, none of these items is mentioned under the space where your name appears on the document. There it simply says, "My peace I give you."
