Emphasis Preaching Journal

Viewed from an historical point of view, the life of Jesus is the silly story of a foolhardy, impractical man. A village carpenter becomes a traveling preacher. He teaches some new ideas about God, and performs some undocumented miracles. He offends the establishment, and invites his own death by going to the wrong place at the wrong time. He chooses his moment of confrontation too early, since he has had only two or three years to communicate his ideas.
