Was it anger at the lack of dialogue or sheer brilliance drawn from Scripture that led Martin Luther to nail his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg in October 1517? There is, after all, the biblical text which celebrates Christ's victory over death, "erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross" (Colossians 2:14).
