We rejoice in our sufferings...

"We rejoice in our sufferings." (verse 3)
There is a saying in the sports world that applies here: "No pain; no gain." As a jogger and occasional runner in five and ten kilometer races, I know something of the truth to that saying. Unless you are willing to train (suffer), you will remain at the back of the pack. But for the person willing to put forth, there is a deep-seated joy in running a race and bettering your own best time. In running and other things, "suffering produces endurance."
