What would you have done if you were Nathan? Suppose one of the members of your congregation were like David?
The temptation might be to avoid conflict and overlook the sin. But we cannot, in good conscience, do that. Then what? Perhaps we would try the nice guy approach -- take David aside and suggest to him what he did was wrong. Or, perhaps with the vigor of a prophet, we would confront the king directly. None of these approaches would have worked.
