When Douglas Corrigan climbed into his airplane cockpit, he had no idea his name would become a household word. The year was 1938, and he was departing New York on a cross-country flight to California. Corrigan never got to California. Instead, he landed in Dublin, Ireland. A reporter gave him the name by which he's been known ever since: "Wrong-Way Corrigan."
