When performing a motor skill...

When performing a motor skill, like thrashing grain in the barn, what is more important to the task: the muscle, the tendon, the connective tissue, the periosteum, or the bone? In truth, all are vital, even though some parts may be more pronounced than others. A strong muscle is needed to lift and continue the labor; yet, a solid bone is required to support the effort. However, a tear in tendon or the connective tissue or the periosteum can immobilize the limb for doing anything useful. Every link plays its important role.
