When we enter into an agreement, we usually put our signature on the "bottom line." A life insurance contract, an auto loan, a mortgage, and a will are all examples of legal, binding covenants we might enter. We usually try to make the best deal for ourselves by dickering, bargaining, or shopping before we sign, too.
Think of Abraham and Sarah, however, they were offered a binding covenant from the Lord, yet there was no way to shop around, no way to dicker, no way to bargain for a few extras. Either receive it in faith or forget it. All or nothing.
