Whenever I read this Scripture...

Whenever I read this Scripture text, I think about Michelangelo's famous sculpture of Moses with the tablets of stone in his arms. Upon close examination one can see two tiny horns on the head of Moses. Michelangelo based his work on the text as it was rendered in the Vulgate which translated the word "shone" with the word "horned." Regardless of how Moses looked when he came down from the mountain, this event has traditionally been called "the Transfiguration of Moses" because his "skin shone" so brightly that he had to put a veil over his face.
