Emphasis Preaching Journal

While serving as a chaplain in a Clinical Pastoral Education program, one student had done an outstanding job in presenting a message. The sermon was timely, relevant, and spoke to the hearts of the people gathered at the State Hospital.
After the worship experience was over, the assistant pastor commented that the sermon had been very effective. Hardly anyone had gotten up and gone to the bathroom as was usually the case. In humility and sincerity, the homilist acknowledged the compliment with a polite, "Thank you for saying that."
