"Who was Jeremiah?" the Sunday School teacher asked his seventh grade class. After a long, awkward silence, Johnny, quoting a 1950s song, said, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog. He was a friend of mine."
After the laughter died down, the teacher said, "No, Jeremiah was a prophet. He preached and taught what the people needed to hear even when they didn't listen to him." "Something like you," Johnny said. "What do you mean?" the teacher asked.
"Well," Johnny said, "you try to teach us the Bible and sometimes we don't listen very well. And you are a good friend of ours."
