Illustration
A widow is remembered across the centuries not for the amount of her church offering but for the sacrifice involved. The offering plate was being passed in a small, informal rural congregation, and one young father discovered he only had a "twenty" and he intended to put in a "five." When the plate reached him, he put the twenty in and took out three fives. His young son was watching this process and noticed only that one bill was put in and three removed. He said in a voice that everyone overheard, "Hey, Dad, you took out more than you put in!" -- Meddock
