The Working Person's Beatitudes
Mary Margaret Sekerak
1. Blessed are they who resist accepting promotions with strings attached, for their integrity and conscience shall be clear.
2. Blessed are the reformed type-As, for their efforts to change their lifestyles shall be reflected in their physical and mental health.
3. Blessed are they who resist putting knives in people's backs, for they can and will be trusted.
4. Blessed are those with empathetic hearts and caring natures, for they have not allowed life to make them callous and unconcerned.
5. Blessed are they who are willing and comfortable to admit they are wrong, or better yet, are not perfect, for they will be considered really human.
6. Blessed are those who can see the big picture, for they will always have the vision to look beyond the here-and-now.
7. Blessed are they who stop to listen, for they shall discover that learning is endless and may come from unexpected sources.
8. Blessed are they who, at some point, realize their total dependence on God and one's inter-dependence with others, for in doing so, he or she will have discovered life's most valuable lesson.
