The young man, clad in grey overalls, white shirt and black riding boots, was lead out to the gallows to be hung. "Do you have last words?" shouted the hangman. "May my innocent blood forever be on your hands," said the young man calmly as the scaffold fell beneath him. His crime? Exposing a corrupt city government. Extortion, money laundering, nepotism and croneyism were the shameful sins of a 20-year administration. Now the young "whistle blower" would pay with his own life for bringing so much shame on the placid town and its impeccable ruling elite.
