Emphasis Preaching Journal

A young man was given the part of John the Baptist in a church play. It was a small part but an important one, as he would be the first person on stage. His lines were taken from the third chapter of the gospel according to Luke. He spent weeks learning his lines. The day of the performance, he stepped out on stage to face a full church. There were people standing in the back of the church. This was the first time that he had ever been in a play. He became nervous and he completely forgot his lines. He tried to say something, but nothing would come out of his mouth.
