As a young Sister, I was surprised to hear an older member of our community talking to the plants in the convent window boxes: "You've been here a long time," she said, "if you don't bloom by next week, I am going to throw you out!" I suppose her message, and perhaps the following week's sunshine, got through to the plants -- within five days they were full of brightly colored flowers! -- Winifred
