Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle C
Theme: God's People Will Receive Power
Call To Worship
Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.
Come, let us worship!
Collect
O Lord God, eternal and everlasting, we give you thanks for all the saints who surround us this day. We have benefited by their faithfulness and their example of a godly life. Give us grace to follow in their footsteps to your honor and glory. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord, when we look at the example set for us by the great cloud of witnesses that surround us this day, we are ashamed of our failure to live godlike lives. Forgive our waywardness, we pray, and help us to keep our feet on the path that leads to your eternal kingdom. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Almighty God, along with our gifts we present ourselves as part of that chain of communication which is responsible for passing along the Good News from generation to generation. Bless our efforts, our gifts, and your Church as we work to carry out your mission to the world. Amen.

Collect
God of all times and every age, we praise your holy name for the rich heritage which is ours. On this day especially we are mindful of those who have gone before us and laid the foundation for our faith and hope. We give you thanks for all that they have taught us. We thank you, too, for those teachers, parents, pastors, and mentors who even now open to us new truths and vistas. Thanks be to you, O God, for all the saints who surround us. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Merciful God, when we hesitate in our witness, when we falter in our discipleship, or when we weaken in our faith, stir up within us the vision of your kingdom; and with the power of your Holy Spirit send us forth to do our part in word and deed so that your will may be done on earth. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O God, we have received the gospel because of the self-sacrificing of those who preceded us. May we be faithful to our inheritance as we present these gifts and ourselves to pass on to others the lifesaving message of your love and mercy. Amen.

"Happy The Souls To Jesus Joined"
"Ye Watchers And Ye Holy Ones"

People: We will shout aloud as we praise God.
All: Praise the Lord!
Collect
God of love, you have taught us through your Son that we are to love our enemies and do good to those who hate us. Through the ages your prophets have kept this challenge before us. With the help of your Holy Spirit, we are committed to keeping this message alive. Rekindle the flame that is within us, Lord, that we may go from this service with new power to proclaim your message. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Heavenly Father, it still hurts us when we are rejected and hated; when others say that we are evil when we are trying to carry out your will. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, so that we may rejoice when this happens because we are being faithful disciples. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
O God, we know that if we were hungry, or sorrowing, or ill, we would want your Church to help us, and so we bring these gifts and offer them and ourselves that the ministry of this church to those in need may continue and grow. Amen.

"For All The Saints"
"I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord"
