"I don't know how the universe works. I don't understand the great mysteries. All I know is that we prayed for Eric, and he is better." So said the amazing man as he stood in my office on the third floor staring intently out the window. Cecil Hobbs graduated from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in 1933. He had been a student when the seminary moved from its downtown location to a new campus on the south side of the city. Cecil told me that he helped plant and tend the grass that grew all around the building.
