The Community Acknowledges God's Presence
As people arrive, have several people with large placards in various parts of the sanctuary. These signs say "Silence," or "Quiet, please." By the time worship begins, the only visible sound will be people's breathing.
When all have arrived and latecomers have been seated, the pastor begins. "Welcome to this celebration of the Savior's birth, this ___ day of Christmas when my true love gave to me _________." (Pause for one minute.)
