Can The Rich Be Righteous; Can The Righteous Be Rich?
It might not have been your first choice on a tour of the Mideast. And at first thought, you would have pictured more romantic, more dramatic cities to visit while in Israel, say Jerusalem for example, or Bethlehem.
Yet most every Sunday school child has heard of the city and most every church's cherub choir has sung about it. Even archaeologists are fascinated with it and have been digging in its ruins for clues to the biblical past. I speak, of course, of the city of Jericho, the setting of our scripture text.
