Artisan of the Air,
God of Song and Spirit,
speak to us in the symphony of sound,
the hope of harmony,
the cadence of grace.
We know that where beauty abounds,
where light and color dazzle the eye,
where song fills the soul ...
there your Spirit resides.
O Lord, teach us to listen.
May we hear in the powerful ministry of music
the struggle and suffering of life transformed by the composer,
the passion of the poet,
the love of the musician
into the rapture of your invincible presence.
Release from our hearts the agony of grief.
Heal us from the cancer of guilt.
And lift us by the sweet sound of your still small voice
to the pinnacle of peace.
All this we ask in the name of him who taught us to sing the
song of hope and dance to the steps of victory,
our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
