From the look on Delores' face as she strode up our walk, I knew that, once again, my sermon hadn't sat well with her.
We'd just gotten home from church when the sound of a car in the driveway made me look out the window. "You might want to hold off putting dinner on the table, Susie," I said. "Delores is here."
My normally patient mate groaned. "Why does it always have to be right after church? Doesn't that woman's family expect her home?"
