SAM: (ENTERS) Rena! Rena!
RENA: (ENTERS) Where is Sam? (NEITHER SAM NOR RENA SEE EACH OTHER)
SAM: She'll be back. She always comes back.
RENA: I thought he'd be here.
SAM: She's got to come back. She's got to.
RENA: It's just like him to run away from the problem.
SAM: What if she doesn't come back? I guess I wouldn't blame her.
RENA: I don't know how we came to this. It didn't used to be like this.
SAM: She really didn't get much of a bargain when she got me.
RENA: We used to do a lot of things together. A lot of things.
SAM: I'm a loser. A real loser.
RENA: Now he has his interests and I have mine.
SAM: What would I do if she does come back?
RENA: I suppose this had to happen. We were growing apart.
SAM: If she came in right now I'd apologize. Then she'd have to listen to me.
RENA: It might even be for the best. That's what they tell me.
SAM: She'd have to take me back. We could start over.
RENA: When love dies we ought to bury it.
SAM: Things would get back to how they used to be.
RENA: It would never be the same now.
SAM: No, that wouldn't be any good.
RENA: Too much has happened. There's too much that can't be forgiven.
SAM: If things were just like they always were that would be pretty bad.
RENA: Why did it happen?
SAM: Where did things go wrong?
RENA: I guess I've changed.
SAM: I haven't changed so much.
RENA: Sam and I grew apart when I changed and he didn't want to.
SAM: I'm still the guy I was when she married me. Well, maybe that's the problem.
RENA: And he didn't want me to change either.
SAM: I haven't changed. That's the problem.
BILL: (ENTERS) I wonder where everyone is?
RENA: And the kids are wild. I can't do anything with them.
SAM: What worries me is the kids. What will happen to them?
TIFF: (ENTERS) Mom? Dad? I wonder where ...
RENA: I worry about them so much. I know this is stressful for them both, but I can't do anything about it.
SAM: I should be a better husband. A better father. No doubt about it.
BILL: That's for sure, no one cares what happens to me.
RENA: What am I supposed to do? I know I yell at the kids a lot.
SAM: I hit Bill the other day. I can't even remember why now.
TIFF: I know Mom and Dad are headed for a divorce.
SAM: I need to change. That would change our marriage.
RENA: I'm under a lot of pressure.
BILL: I'm just going to run away.
SAM: I'm scared I can't change.
RENA: I'm fearful.
BILL: Me frightened? Me? No, not me. Not much.
TIFF: I'm terrified. What will happen to me? (ALL EXIT IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS)
